4.20.99 Timeline
FYI this is a major work in progress and may take forever to be done. I will be adding things at all time points as I go.
12:35:00 - Dylan leaves Erics house
2:15:00 - Eric records the "Nixon Tape". The tape was found, still in the recorder, on the kitchen table of Erics house. On the tape Eric discusses the reasonings behind the attack that was to come and says the attack will happen less than 9 hours from now. Describing the day to come he says "It will be a day that will be remembered forever." Info from the 11k HERE.
5:00:00 - Eric wakes up around this time, if he even slept at all.
5:50:00 - Eric is scheduled to arrive at Nate Dykemans house to pick him up and drive to bowling class together at Belleview Lanes
6:00:00 - As per their schedule Eric drives to KS (King Scoopers) and meets up with Dylan
6:30:00 - There is some speculation that Eric and Dylan may have driven to the bowling alley and sat in the parking lot for some time. The bowling teacher, Kristine Macauley, told JCSO that she thought she recalled seeing both Eric and Dylan in the parking lot at Belleview Lanes on the morning of 4.20.99. Another student in the class, Jennifer LaPlante, told investigators that she saw both Eric and Dylan in the parking lot that morning and that she said hi and they nodded at her. Seen HERE. Another student in the class, Justin Kehm, told JSCO that he saw Dylan talking with Nate Dykeman in the parking lot of the bowling alley on that morning. It may be important to point out that Kehm knew Eric from the soccer team. Still another student in the class, Jessica Rosecrans, told investigators that she talked with Eric while getting her bowling shoes that morning. Supposedly Eric said "You are such a stuck up bitch. Someday you are going to pay for it." I am not so sure about that. It sounds like something she may have made up after the fact. However, she did describe what Eric was wearing and a blue plaid long sleeve shirt and a Nike hat, which is totally plausible considering we can see him wearing a Nike hat HERE. I kind of doubt that they were actually there on that morning. It was not part of the plan and the teacher and students could have just mistaken other students for Eric and Dylan.
8:36:45 - Eric purchases two propane tanks from Conoco gas station at 7450 W. Chatfield. The clerks initials were KLT. The recipt found in his home trash can is seen HERE.
8:41:00 - According to the official timeline, at this point Eric was at his house and supposedly is on his computer and changes/posts his profile.
9:12:22 - Eric purchases one Blue Rhino propane tank from the Texaco. The store clerk describes him as quiet and polete. More information including the video and receipts can be seen HERE.
10:15:00 - A mail carrier allegedly witnesses Eric and Dylan walking away from the place where the diversionary bombs are set up. It is probable that they set the devices near this time.
10:45:00 - Eric and Dylan film the last section of the "basement tapes" inside of Eric's house. In the recording Dylan mentions it's half an hour until their little judgement day. They had already selected 11:17 as the time for the bombs to detonate so this puts the time of recording around 10:45.
10:58:18 - Eric walks into the commons carrying a large duffle bag.
10:59:40 - Eric walks out of the commons empty handed.
10:59:50 - Dylan walks into the commons carrying a large duffle bag.
11:00:52 - Dylan leaves the commons empty handed.
11:01:00 - Eric is seen leaving the CHS parking lot by student Leigh Kamens. She says she saw him leaving around 10:55 but because of the security footage we know it must have been just a few moments after 11. She had known Eric since 7th grade and waved at him and he waved back. Her testimony about it can be read HERE.
11:10:00 - Eric and Dylan arrive back at CHS. Eric is driving his gray 1986 Honda Prelude and Dylan is driving his black 1982 BMW 320i. Eric parks in the east "junior" lot and Dylan parks in the west "senior" lot. Their exact parking spots can be seen HERE. They are strategically parked to cover both primary exist from the commons.
11:12:00 - Erics former friend Brooks Brown is going out for a smoke and sees him in the parking lot and approaches him. Eric says to him "I like you now, get out of here". Brown is a known liar so this interaction needs to be viewed skeptically. If it did happen it makes sense that Eric wouldn't do anything to Brown as to not alert the other students in the commons of what was about to happen.
11:14:55 - The CHS Janitor is seen on security footage entering the video room to swap recording tapes. The duffle bags are supposedly not visible in their final locations at this point. Recording is stopped at this point as the tapes are changed out.
11:17:00 - The bombs that had been placed in the school were timed for 11:17am. They do not go off. Eric and Dylan are waiting outside in the parking lot. They are communicating using hand signals but when the bombs fail to detonate Eric likely approached Dylan to discuss the next step.
11:19:00 - A 911 call comes in referencing the diversionary explosion on Wadsworth Road near Chatfield and Ken Caryl.
11:19:00 - Witnesses see Eric and Dylan standing together at the top of the staircase HERE. It is a high point on campus and blow they can see most of the parking lots and the exits. My guess would be that after the bombs malfunctioned Eric walked towards Dylan and they decided to walk to the top of the steps. At this point they both are still wearing the black coats.
11:19:30 - Eric turns towards the west entrance to the school and sees Rachel Scott and Richard Castaldo sitting on the grass eating their lunch. He raises his HiPoint 995 and fires 4 shots at Scott from a distance of 15 feet. She is hit 4 times including a fatal wound to her left temple.
11:19:45 - Daniel Rohrbough, Sean Graves, and Lance Kirklin, leave the cafeteria and begiun walking to the smokers pit. Eric and Dylan look down the stairs and Fire on them. Eric hits Rohrbough twice, once in the leg and once in the chest. The chest wound is fatal.
11:20:00 - Another 911 call comes in referencing the diversionary explosion on Wadsworth Road near Chatfield and Ken Caryl.
11:21:00 - Jefferson County Sheriff deputy Magor is dispatched southward, away from Columbine High School, to investigate the reports of the explosion off Wadsworth.
11:22:22 - The school janitor finishes swapping out the security tapes and the system begins recording again. The duffle bags are now visible in their locations.
